“A bit shabby”
The location worked out because we were in Brighton for a concert and most hotels were booked due to the political party happening at that time. The hotel itself is really dated, the hallway carpet is filthy. The rooms are adequate in size, but in two of the rooms we booked the bed has the radiator right behind it as the headboard, which isn’t great; the curtains don’t close completely and being on the main road, car lights kept everyone awake. In the top‑floor room there were squashed bugs on the walls—easily washed off with a wet tissue, so maybe the cleaners could address that. The sheets don’t fit, so they’re all wrinkly, and the pillows feel like they’ve been washed because they’re all lumpy. There are also signs of repair work on the walls in each room—filled and sanded but not repainted. You advertise a restaurant on site, but it’s only open Friday to Sunday, so that could be clarified. Overall, a bit shabby and not worth the money we paid.
