The cottage was beautifully renovated with a décor that cleverly blends traditional and industrial styles, it’s roomy and well equipped. The spot is ideal and the street is quiet (the bar across the street isn’t at all bothersome), and there’s a great market on the square next to it on Saturdays.

The central position in Avallon was a plus, but the washing machine jammed. The owners kindly helped by taking my laundry, doing it themselves, and returning it the next day.

The location near the TGV station, museums, and the valley of the cousin was convenient. However, cleanliness was lacking: there were many spider webs in the rooms, the previous trash bag hadn’t been emptied, towels were missing, the smell was strong, and the air‑conditioners made a lot of noise even on low ventilation.

The heating, the staircase ramp, the parking on the Halles square, and the fact that it was an Airbnb room instead of a hotel were positives, and the price was good even with a 20% discount. The entry door was stuck, the spiral staircase was impractical for older people, the toilets were far from the room, the shower area wasn’t insulated, there could be confusion with no. 7 Place du Marché, there was no explanation on how to set the heating, and the Wi‑Fi code was missing from the room.
