The Boathouse really blew us away – the quiet spot by the river and the view from the bedroom were unbeatable. Inside, every corner felt carefully curated, and the hosts Wendy and Phil went above and beyond, even checking we had enough firewood and offering a generous breakfast spread. The only downside was the bed felt a bit hard for me, but my husband was fine with it.

We spent three nights at the Boathouse and it instantly became the highlight of our road trip. Phil and Wendy were friendly and gave us great local tips, and the place was fully stocked for a long stay with décor that made us feel relaxed and private. We’ve stayed in about 150 places over the last four years, and this is up there with the best in Australia and Europe.

The spot on the water was gorgeous, the size was perfect for two, and everything we needed was right there with easy walking distance to the rest of town. The only small gripe was the dining chairs were a bit tall, so we couldn’t see the boat view from the bed, but it didn’t bother us at all. Still a solid 10/10.

The cabin was cozy, had everything we needed, and the deck was a great place to sit out and watch the boats glide by on a sunny day. It was a truly relaxing stay.

The river location is fantastic – a big east-facing deck surrounded by trees and birds, and the nearby marina is quiet. A bike or walking path takes you straight into town or along the river, and the boathouse itself is beautifully appointed with a generous breakfast basket from the hosts. No complaints at all.
