Everything was amazing—everyone was friendly, the place felt cozy, and the breakfast menu had many options. Because I’m lactose‑free, they had already brought almond milk for my morning coffee, which I really appreciated.

We spent five nights in one of the little villas at Rambutan Resort and found it a tranquil, leafy hideaway right in the centre. The cluster of small villas felt even quieter and cozier than the main area, though the main zone was also lovely – especially for dining and its evening bar, where the Welcome Cocktail with Kampot pepper is a must‑try. We dined at the hotel twice; it was a bit pricey but the food was excellent. The staff were warm and friendly, adding a special touch to our stay. We booked a tuk‑tuk through the hotel for trips around Angkor and our driver Nak turned out to be a remarkable guide, offering plenty of historical background, adapting routes on the fly and suggesting his own ideas – we highly recommend him. Overall we felt very comfortable and will book the same place on our next trip to Cambodia, because the country offers far more than just Siem Reap and Angkor and is definitely worth another visit. The lower‑level bedroom in the little villas was a little too dark for our taste, making the layout feel less than ideal; next time we’d ask for an upper‑floor bedroom. It would also be great if the TVs had Smart‑TV capability for Netflix and similar services.
