The accommodation was perfect for our cycling trips to Amsterdam, Keukenhof, the Amstel tour, etc. We made breakfast ourselves and usually cooked dinner too; all utensils were available. Cooking together as a group of four was a blast. Dining out in the Netherlands is still a bit pricier than in Germany. All in all, a very successful stay on the Kempers Wassersport houseboat. We couldn’t make it in time for the key handover on Saturday evening, and Monday was also a holiday. The rush was intense because some options for the stored key didn’t work out. We thought we’d need to find a hotel for three days. Luckily we met other guests on a houseboat who told us to call the emergency number. They explained that we’d received an email with the key code. My computer didn’t forward every email to my phone, so we were relieved that the email did show up and we got the key from the lockbox. The toilet and shower are in one room. With four people you need a small plan to relieve the morning rush. In the end that worked fine. We showered only after everyone had finished their morning routine. The TV gave us puzzles, but there was no clear explanation of how it worked.
