“Not worth the price.. disappointing”
The room was tidy, and the spot was fantastic. I wasn’t impressed, especially since this wasn’t our first trip to Venice. Compared to our stay last year at a similarly convenient spot that cost half as much, other hotels at that price point knew us by name, handed out a welcome drink, and offered to carry our bags when we arrived exhausted. There was no lift! The young men at the front desk left us and my elderly husband to haul our luggage up and down several flights of steep stairs after a sleepless night on the plane. Breakfast was basic, with plenty of pastries that weren’t health‑friendly. On day two we got just eggs, no meat, ran out of utensils, and had to pick apart grapes for fruit. The staff were scrambling; it seemed the management number didn’t reserve guests in advance to gauge how much food was needed. We didn’t stay for the included breakfasts. The room was clean but the bed was uncomfortable, pillows were hard, and the bathroom was tiny. No extras, no water, no treats, no tissues, no vanities—just soap. There was no help with directions, activities, or airport transfers in person, and we didn’t ask because the staff seemed uninterested. This was the most expensive hotel we booked for four nights during our month‑long trip and it was completely not worth it: I would not stay again even if it were half the price. We paid $450 us per night… total disappointment. The location was great, which is why they can charge these prices. It’s sad this place could be a gem in this spot with a proper makeover and better management.
