“Treated very badly. I do not know why he was so hateful.”
The owner was very rude and told me to leave because a friend—who I had asked to help me move because I couldn’t lift—came to my room when her shower wasn’t working; he said he couldn’t provide showers for the town and then told me “Just get out!” I don’t expect anything to change, and I’m sure the people who set up this survey will never see this. This is something the government needs to address. We “GIVE” money to people from other countries to buy them a hotel in the United States; we even pay for them to fly over here. Upon arrival they own a business, usually a hotel or convenience store. The hotels all provide housing for the new owners while Americans who are homeless or nearly homeless face daily struggles. President Trump builds walls to keep Mexicans out, yet pays other countries and sets them up in a business that is basically a lifetime arrangement. I’m personally affected by this. I stayed in that hotel because I lost my 1988 RV, which was my home, and had to sell it to pay for moving expenses. It’s so hot in Texas—yesterday the temperature hit 102. I’m 69, have no family, my daughter died six years ago, and my social‑security check is $1,629 per month. Due to the heat I paid for one night in that hotel, but today I’m on the street walking around in this heat because shelters require us to leave every morning and we can’t return until after 5 pm. I paid for the room and the amenities, but it wasn’t that nice, and when I tried to bring a visitor he said I wasn’t allowed to have one. I know this won’t be read and nothing will be done. Have a good day.
