“Bon séjour à Horta”

The location was close to the marina, shops, and restaurants, and breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was spacious with a balcony and rattan seating. The downside was the noise from a dog in the garden outside room 220, which barked regularly and even one night continuously; we had to close the window and still heard it clearly. We have two large dogs, so it seems necessary for the hotel to talk to the owner.

I needed a bit of renovation, but the breakfast could use improvement.

I liked the room’s cleanliness and the view, but the excessive noise at night was a problem. On the last night, many children were playing and shouting in the corridor for hours late into the night, which disturbed sleep. Overall, I didn’t see it as a 4‑star hotel; it felt more like a 3‑star, so the price paid seemed inappropriate.

“Very nice hotel, but be prepared for a short, steep climb”

We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking Pico Island, and the view was great. The pool area was lovely. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a good selection. The hotel is a short distance from the marina, but the walk up the steep hill isn’t suitable for everyone. During breakfast it was extremely busy, with very few seats open and a long line for coffee because of a large tour group, so I’d recommend adjusting your breakfast time if a group is there at the same time as your stay.

“Wish we could have stayed longer”

The views from our balcony, the breakfast, the friendly staff, and the swimming pool were all excellent. The only downside was walking up the hill after dinner.
