Everything was perfect; if I return to Miami, I’ll definitely stay at this property. Nothing.

The check‑in at Marlin Hotel went smoothly and initially we had no issues. Once inside the room, I noticed the inside of the wardrobe and drawers were very dirty, with dust and even black hair. The next morning I went to reception and spoke with the same person who had checked us in the day before. I simply asked politely if it would be possible to clean the inside of the wardrobe and drawers, and to avoid any misunderstanding I even showed a photo on my phone. He replied, “Yes, yes, no problem.” When we returned to the hotel later that morning, I discovered something incredible: all our clothes in the wardrobe were gone. I immediately ran to reception, where there was initially no one… When I finally found the person I had spoken to, I begged where our clothes had disappeared. I learned they had been removed from the wardrobe, put together in a large transparent garbage bag, and taken away from the room without any authorization. The explanation given was even more absurd: I was told they didn’t realize those clothes were ours. But whose clothes should they have been? We had checked in the previous day, the room was occupied by me and my daughter, and we had naturally started arranging our personal belongings. Moreover, when I reported the dirt, I had clearly shown a photo of the wardrobe. I had certainly not indicated our clothes as “trash.” They were numerous personal items, even expensive and branded, mine and my daughter’s. I find it extremely serious that a guest’s personal belongings are taken, handled, put in a garbage bag, and removed from the room without any consent.

Cleanliness, a wide bed, a large room, a very good location, 2 minutes on foot to the beach, fairly quiet, free lounge chairs, umbrella and beach towel, a good coffee machine and free water in the room, very friendly staff. No breakfast at the hotel, water in the shower is usually cold, windows are quite dirty.

The beach is just a short walk away, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. They let you borrow beach chairs and a parasol, and everything is reachable on foot.

THE MARLIN HOTEL sits on Collins Avenue, a main street of Miami Beach that runs parallel to Ocean Drive; it’s only a block away but quieter. The hotel is on 12th Street and has a parking deal with a public lot on 13th Street, so guests can park any time for a flat daily rate. The front desk staff are polite and helpful, and the manager John explains all the hotel’s features clearly. Ada, a young staff member, assisted us with a tricky situation, and overall the team is efficient. If you want dinner close by, the hotel shares a building with the Italian restaurant OSTERIA POSITANO, where the staff—Juan and the frontgirl—are pleasant and smiling. Our room, a monolocale premium, was spacious with a king‑size bed, a crystal shower, and enough room for two large suitcases. The wooden floor adds a special charm, and the bathrobe feels quite aristocratic.
