A classic Scottish‑style hotel on a gorgeous spot, with a huge room and a beautiful view, but the breakfast menu could use improvement—no smoked salmon, which is odd for Scotland.

I didn’t expect the hotel to be so good, but I was pleasantly surprised by its immaculate condition and superb, polite, attentive staff. The food was exceptional, the wine selection spot‑on, and the front‑desk gentleman was a delight to talk to and seemed to be everywhere in the hotel—please thank him and the ladies who looked after us. I’ll definitely return!
