“beautiful room but bad communication”

The room was beautiful - the paintings on the wall especially. There was a bad smell - like drains Bad communication - I messaged on booking. com and got no response so then I sent an email weeks before arriving and also got no response. I had to reach out myself on whatsapp to get the details for checking in when we arrived - they were shared at the last minute which was not very professional. Should have been sent in advance rather than me having to reach out

Positives: The location inside Verona and the convenient parking. Negatives: The windows were worn out, the TV likely didn’t work because the remote’s batteries were dead, and the cleaning wasn’t perfect.

The parking was safe and spacious, though the entrance was complicated. The bed sheets and bathroom towels were clean, but there was no soap. The description said there was a bathtub, but there was none (please correct). The main door, a middle iron gate, the house front door, and the room doors all had confusing access procedures and code information, and we received no pre‑arrival instructions, so we had to wait on the street with unauthorized parking, which was very inconvenient (the message we sent was not seen). The host showed little consideration for guests, which was disappointing. The floor was made of very old wood, causing noise between floors and from the neighboring room, disrupting sleep. The kitchen facilities were not clean. I would not return or recommend this place.

The building has a unique character, with rooms restored from an old palazzo, and it has its own charm! Fresco walls, wooden floors, and spacious common areas. Because the building is old, there are some odors that are hard to eliminate without major renovations, both in the bathroom and in some rooms, probably due to the wood and maybe a bit of dampness, but nothing that ruined the holiday; it was almost normal for an old house.

The location is good, you can walk to the old town. The courtyard parking is very convenient. The communication with the host was extremely bad; he did not respond to any Booking requests, only gave the door code after a phone call, and ignored further questions about internet and hair dryer. On the day of departure, the street in front of the house was blocked; when we asked the local police we learned we could only leave before 8.00 am… I would have expected that crucial information from the host.
