The layout was clean, inviting, and full of natural light, and the owners baked homemade chocolate chip cookies! I just couldn't stay an extra night.

The apartment was spotless and stylishly decorated, and the spot in Columbia Heights was spot on. Street parking was a breeze, and the owner was quick to help out. The bed was a dream. On the downside, we couldn’t reach the thermostat to tweak the temperature, which was a hassle, and the kitchen could use a few more tools for making breakfast.

The place had a sleek look, clever layout, and solid furnishings. The downside was that the lower level sits right by a busy intersection, so traffic and chatter seeped in all night—no good for light sleepers like me.

“Inability for guest to control temperature in rented space”

Coffee pods and other extras were handy, and the stoneware, utensils, appliances, fixtures, and finishes were top‑quality and practical, which I appreciated. The real problem was that none of the rooms let you adjust the temperature; the bedroom stayed warm at night and to change it you had to let the host in to a locked closet where the thermostat sits, which I found unacceptable. The pillows and mattress cover were 100% non‑breathable and very uncomfortable, even though the mattress itself was decent. Plus, there’s an extra fee for checking out at 11 am. Because of all that, I wouldn’t stay here again, even though the space is tidy.
