The private onsen was especially enjoyable and the room was spacious. We stayed in the suite, so we haven’t seen the other rooms. Breakfast was a hardcore Japanese affair; you have to be prepared for that. I understand the ryokan wants to showcase Japanese quality and tradition, but a western breakfast option would have been nice too. We had to pay for contact, which is very inconvenient when dealing with large sums.
