The location was unbeatable, right in the heart of the city, and the historic building had been tastefully renovated with stylish, atmospheric rooms featuring wooden parquet floors, marble bathrooms and beautiful antiques, lots of stucco and romantic lighting, a well‑stocked fridge in the representative lounge, and exceptionally friendly reception staff; the nearby underground parking solution was surprisingly clever. The only minor drawback was that after 3 pm the reception moved to home‑office, and the breakfast buffet could have used a bit more smoked salmon.

Baan Imsook Resort was the clear winner for my trip to the Chao Lao area – it felt like home, relaxing, and stylish all at once. The lush trees and blooming flowers fill the property, and everything smells fresh and clean, instantly putting you in vacation mode. The beachfront is clean, spacious, and relaxing, and being able to see the sea from the room was a delightful treat. The resort’s restaurant serves tasty local dishes, and the nearby pool makes it great for family time. Don’t miss KAME Restaurant opposite the hotel – their pizzas and desserts are amazing and a must‑try. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout my stay. If you enjoy an active morning, running around the Chao Lao area starting from the resort is fantastic.

The bungalows are lovely in a park‑like setting, even though there are fewer guests outside of peak season. Breakfast is plentiful, though it isn’t a buffet. The grounds and beach are cleaned daily, and room service is acceptable.

The shade is great. The blanket was very damp and smelly.

Everything was wonderful; during the week the beach is almost empty and there are many restaurants nearby.
