“A scam”

We couldn’t check in; none of the contacts worked, the address was vague, and a refund was impossible. In short, we were scammed.

The location was good, the place was clean and quiet, and the converted flat was turned into rooms. It was a shared flat, which was fine for a single guy needing a room for the night. The kitchen was self‑service. All communication happened on WhatsApp, and there were many instructions for entering the building and property.

“A very disappointing and uncomfortable stay that left us severely sleep-deprived/low standards.”

The location was convenient, but the overall condition of the accommodation and the experience during our stay were extremely disappointing. The accommodation was not clean or well maintained, with visible grime and cleanliness issues throughout, and we were unable to sleep properly because of significant noise during the night. We also had considerable difficulty contacting the host when we needed assistance and were left waiting outside in the cold, which made an already stressful arrival even worse.

Very reasonable price for London area. This is a room in a shared flat with a bathroom. There are 4 rooms to rent - this works well but you don’t know who you will be sharing the space with before booking

“No electricity available and no cleaning when I got there”

The location was exactly what I wanted, within walking distance of the Islington Assembly Hall. The host was understanding and available, within reason. When I got there, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired (the toilet hadn't been flushed for. a while), there was rotting food in the fridge and freezer and there was no electricity. When I communicated with the host, she was very apologetic and told me no one had been there for a while. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to solve the issue that same day. I got a full refund but I still had to find a place to stay very last minute and ended up paying way more because of it
