Breakfast wasn’t provided, and the room lacked a toaster, cutlery, and plates. An iron was available, though I doubt it would be used. The bathroom was male‑friendly but not female‑friendly; the shower head was suited to guys, there was no small bin for sanitary pads, and the handwash was mounted in the shower, making it hard to get soap on your hands while washing at the basin. A table and chairs with a light above would help for breakfast, and more power points or USB sockets would be useful for charging a computer, hearing aids, or mobile phones. The décor was very plain, and the bathroom door was unfinished with a rough‑hewn circular saw cut that wasn’t sanded and had no door hardware.

I spent a single night in Goondiwindi and the place worked well as a comfy stopover before heading out the next day. The on‑site restaurant and bar were decent, though nothing extraordinary. The shared bathrooms were tidy and stocked with toiletries, which I liked. If you’re up early, bring your own breakfast because the options might not be ready that soon. All in all, it’s a solid, convenient overnight spot for travelers passing through. The only downside was the steel stairs from the carpark, which were uncomfortable in the rain.

The location is good, but the average pub‑room was overpriced. The staff seemed uninterested in checking me in, and it took 10 to 15 minutes before anyone noticed me.
