The room was dark and you could smoke inside. It turned out to be a love hotel and I was approached for prostitution in the area. Check‑in was at 10 pm and there was no check‑out time on my reservation; a call at noon told me I’d be charged by the hour to stay.

The place is close to the station, but it’s too cramped. I brought two suitcases and there was barely any floor space to put my feet. The price on the site was more than 2,000 ¥ higher than the price listed in the room. I could leave my luggage before check‑in, but when I came to collect it at check‑in I was made to wait about 15 minutes at the entrance.

The location is great and the price is reasonable. However, it’s a love hotel. If you’re not used to that, it’s a place couples go when they have nowhere else to do couple things. The “adult only” label might make you think it’s just to keep kids out, but it’s actually rated 18+. The room was a smoking room, which wasn’t mentioned, and it smelled accordingly.
