“Time for Brighton”
The room was spotless, roomy and cozy, featuring a huge, lovely, comfortable bed that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. I especially enjoyed the compact shower area – clean, modern, and well presented. Breakfast was pleasant, with a small continental spread alongside a cooked buffet, giving a nice variety to start the day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout, and I was grateful when they kindly watched my bags while I spent the day in Hastings; that thoughtful gesture made my outing smoother. Having stayed at The Mitre Hotel before, returning felt familiar, and I would gladly stay again. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable experience at a hotel I know and would gladly revisit. On the downside, the sausages at breakfast on the first morning were a bit disappointing, not quite to my taste. There was also some noise—a person screaming at 4 am—on the first night, which disturbed the peace, though I understand this may not be something the hotel could control. My main concern was a urine smell in the shower room; I couldn’t pinpoint its source, but it might have been linked to the toilet. Despite the shower being clean and modern, this odor detracted from an otherwise comfortable stay. These were minor issues in the context of my overall experience, but worth mentioning as areas for improvement.
