“Epic dinners. A very comfortable room to spend a rainy day in”

The room was big with a great view, and the staff were friendly. They made sure I was understood even though I only knew a few Japanese words. The onsen was nice, and I liked that the water was a little hotter than other places I’ve stayed. I had a private dining room. The front desk man drove me to the bus stop twice. There were a lot of stairs, which was fine for me but might not suit everyone. They were closed on the Wednesday I wanted to add to my stay (at the last minute), but they recommended a nearby hotel that was fine.

The owner, knowing I was Spanish, not only set up a translator on his phone but also put up Spanish signs in key areas of the hotel just for my visit; the whole place is wonderful.

The room was spacious, but the futon smelled bad and I didn’t want to eat hot pot despite the heat.

“Magnifique”

The staff were very friendly, the traditional inn was beautiful, the accommodation enormous, all with a view of the river, right across from Ryusen‑ji temple; the location was great and pleasant, offering an authentic yet comfortable experience, and the dinner was delicious.
