“A lovely end to our time in South Korea”
We ended our South Korean trip here, and it was the best place to spend our final nights. Yoonji was a fantastic host, always ready with local tips and suggestions for things to do in Seoul. I appreciated that this was a guesthouse instead of a hostel—no offense to hostels, but it felt more like a home and made it easier to meet other travelers and socialize in the evenings. The metro station is close, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants and bars, plus a communal kitchen if you want to cook for yourself. I’d highly recommend it. The downside is that there’s only one shared bathroom, so you might have to wait for a turn—though that didn’t bother us. We also missed the complimentary breakfast because we were too lazy to get up on time, so don’t make the same mistake.
“A not so bueno stay in Seoul”
The apartment is cozy but a bit cramped. The living room is a huge massage chair and the dining room doubles as a workspace. The bathroom and kitchen are clean and nice. I had a delicious Korean breakfast and met people from the Philippines and Taiwan. The bunk beds were basic and noisy. I was planning to stay an extra night or two and forgot to tell the girl in charge. In the middle of the morning I was asked to prepare for check‑out because other customers had made reservations.
The air conditioning was too cold, making it impossible to sleep.
“Un endroit calme dans un quartier historique”
It was my second stay at this guesthouse and everything went smoothly, just like the first time. The apartment had everything I needed and I felt comfortable. I love the local neighborhood where we hardly see tourists. Many restaurants are close by, including some that never close. Everyone I met was friendly. The charming hostess introduced me to many traditional Korean dishes and snacks. I only ate in Seoul.
Yoonji Kim is the best host! Staying with her let me experience Korean culture on a much deeper level. She was incredibly attentive throughout my stay, shared local events happening in Seoul, helped me adapt smoothly, and guided me on how to navigate the city and its public transportation. Her recommendations for Korean food were also excellent. I couldn’t have asked for a better host!
