The location was perfect, just a short drive to the Lakes, and nearby villages offered a good selection of pubs and eateries; the property itself was spotless, well maintained, had everything we needed, and a great outdoor seating area as an added bonus; the hosts were friendly and welcoming.

The Byre (Barn) is truly lovely with a beautiful layout and excellent fixtures and fittings; it’s definitely a place to relax and enjoy, and it’s perfectly positioned for walkers as the north lakes are only 10 minutes away; hosts Pat and Neil are excellent, very knowledgeable about the area, and keep the facilities and gardens immaculate; nothing negative at all.

A huge thanks to Pat for a wonderful stay at The Byre; we wish we’d booked more than just the 2 nights; the accommodation is stunning, with decor, furniture, and facilities all to a luxury standard; the location is perfectly rural and quiet, yet close enough to Penrith for shops; the garden, which is more or less secure, is huge and ideal for our dog and for sitting out; Pat was very welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful; we will definitely book again.

The converted barn was gorgeous, complete with a log burner, a huge comfy sofa, and a breathtaking bathroom featuring a lovely freestanding bath.
