We chose Abcoude for its calm, safety, easy train access for our outings and especially to slow down at the start of our vacation, so staying at Boutique Hotel De Witte Dame was spot on. The room we booked with a view of the green was very special, with spotless cleaning, an incredibly comfortable bed and top‑quality sheets and bath towels. Breakfast is a highlight, everything freshly prepared by the chef, and we dined once at the hotel restaurant and it was perfect. They offer both electric and regular bicycles for guests to rent, so we spent an afternoon cycling around Abcoude and it was fantastic. I would definitely consider living there. We stayed for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer; we will definitely return.

Abcoude is a very pretty town, the building is nice, parking on site makes it easy, and the breakfast is absolutely fabulous! The proximity of the train station to get to Amsterdam is a big plus. Nothing was wrong, everything was perfect.

“Beautiful peaceful stay outside the city.”

A beautiful boutique hotel with well‑appointed rooms in a lovely small town, which explains why it doubles as a wedding venue. I was in Amsterdam for a seminar at the hospital and chose to stay there instead of Amsterdam Central. Abcoude is very pretty and peaceful, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were large, comfortable, clean, and quite romantic with a double shower and tub in the middle of the room; the bed was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Renting a bike lets you feel like a local. Walking trails are nearby and the train is just a short walk away. The restaurant is beautiful and serves great food and drinks. Nothing really stood out as negative; I noticed one side table was broken but it didn’t bother me. However, if traveling with a friend rather than alone or with a partner, the shower/bath setup might lack privacy.
