A fantastic stay at a very original hotel that had everything we needed and a superb breakfast.

It was a bit of a surprise that it was an old prison, but it turned out to be a nice quirky experience. Even though the 'cell' was a bit small, the bed was comfortable and the shower was adequate and clean. We stayed only one night, but it would have been fine for a couple of nights. Many young backpackers stay there. The breakfast buffet was plentiful without being unnecessarily overflowing. We had a bit of trouble setting up charging for devices because there were not many power points available. Because the room was small, we had to keep our suitcases closed and standing.

The location is good, the rooms are clean, and the staff are helpful. The rooms are small and getting to the bunk beds is inconvenient.

We knew the hotel was a converted prison, so we had set our expectations. The furniture and the bathroom were new and very clean, making it a very good experience for one night. The double bed, with its long side against the wall, was difficult for us older guests; one person had to climb over the other at night to reach the toilet, or use a narrow iron ladder to get into the bed lying across the other.
