“Nice hotel, lousy accommodation.”
This hotel is a nice facility; it has an upscale feel and amenities to match. The front desk staff was quite helpful in finding the information I needed, and they recommended I try a particular restaurant for one of my meals. I loved the place they suggested. This place is a rip‑off and money‑grubbing to boot. I made my reservation and paid a substantial price for my room. When I got to my room, I discovered it had only a single twin bed. I had requested a king or a queen‑size bed. I went to the front desk to ask if I could be switched to a king‑size bed instead. This hotel wasn't even close to being fully occupied, so the appropriate thing for them to do would have been to upgrade me as requested without a fuss. Instead, the front desk clerk said he would have to charge me an extra $160 for the upgrade. I declined his offer. I think it's really crummy, frankly, that the hotel has to be so cheap and money‑grubbing. Are they within their rights to request an additional amount? Yes, of course. Could they have upgraded me anyway, recognizing from an operational standpoint, the cost to them would be virtually identical? Yes, most definitely. Therefore, I am urging readers of this review to consider carefully whether you want to stay in a place that is so un‑customer focused.
