At a late arrival, only a non‑working door code was available, so I couldn’t check in at 23:30 and was left outside the hotel. There was no emergency number, and the manager was unreachable. Finding a new hotel at 23:30 with two dogs was almost impossible, so I would stay away.

The place is modern, clean, and nicely situated. The range of additional items you can rent is really great, from online-ordered bread to e‑scooters and bicycles—everything works smoothly. The only drawback is the planning of the Swedish houses; personally, I found the ceiling height above the bed too low and the wooden staircase poorly designed, with a missing railing and two missing steps, which isn’t ideal for older people or children, though that’s subjective. Also, there’s no 230 V outlet outside for charging e‑scooters.

The lake is lovely, the water is wonderful. The beds were not great.

The whole campsite was clean and tidy and everything was well organized, but the items you can rent were very pricey – the 4x4 gym cost €20 per hour and the spa for two people ran €120 for three hours.

Emsland-Camp offers a lot and is well maintained. The Swedish houses creak not only because the wood is settling but sometimes they are frighteningly loud.
