Hostal Rosa Mística sits just meters from Montañita’s surf circuit, directly across from the beach. Rooms feature private bathrooms, free WiFi, and optional air conditioning. Guests unwind on sea‑side hammocks or stroll 1.5 km to downtown. Surf lessons are available, and a 24‑hour front desk assists travelers. The hostel is 170 km from José Joaquin Olmedo International Airport.

They charge extra for a sea view, yet the room I got had no sea view at all, no luggage storage, and the showers were outside the accommodation for a whopping 70 USD; I expected so much better for that price. In Montañita, you can find far more comfortable places with better customer service for the same amount. The sheets were itchy and the towels felt like sandpaper on my skin, causing a rash from sleeping there.
