Gabi and the rest of the team welcomed us immediately and entertained our daughter Margot throughout the stay, even handing her beach toys, and they arranged an expert massage for my back injury; the spot is superb—close to the port yet on the quieter side of the beach. Paradise. Nothing to add.

The hotel was stunning, the staff spoke flawless English, breakfast and afternoon tea were delightful, and lounging in the rooftop hot tubs felt very romantic! The only downside was that the shower head was a bit rubbish, though it still worked.

The staff were very friendly, the location was great, and the breakfast was excellent, but the bed was uncomfortable—both the mattress and pillows were quite hard.

Everything was perfect, but the people turned a nice place into something special and we loved our stay at Pousada Rubi because the staff (and Wesley the cat!) made it special; the food is exceptional, coffee and cake are a lovely touch, the location next to great bars and restaurants and walks with a fantastic view of the beach is just perfect, the beds are comfy, the showers great, the hot tub and sauna are a welcome treat, and everything is spotlessly and beautifully cared for; we had miserable weather but still loved it.
