The hotel itself is gorgeous and the rooms are lovely, but breakfast was a disaster: food ran out, the staff struggled to keep up, an older employee handled bread and pastries without gloves, and there was no coffee. Clearly, more staff are needed.

The rooms and dining matched the quality you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber, but the staff were so good that the whole experience jumped from “as expected” to “excellent.”

The Elvetham Hotel is stunningly beautiful and in an incredible location. I can’t fault this historic hotel at all—from its overall ambience to the management and the whole team. The cuisine, made with local ingredients whenever possible, is meticulously prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious from breakfast through lunch to afternoon tea. I haven’t tried the dinner menu yet, but I’m confident it will match the same high standards. The management and staff go the extra mile for every guest, even the four‑legged ones. I don’t give praise lightly, but this stay was exceptional—period!
