The vibe is great, and the owner and his family—since it’s a family business—were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, recommending beaches and good restaurants. They also helped me find the cheapest motorbike rental, which was a huge help. It was a fantastic introduction to a new place.

The family was friendly and polite, but a wind chime from Tip of the Ice Berg hung in the hallway, so anyone taller than 5 foot 5 would hit their head on it. The laundry room, located in the middle of the building, smelled like cleaning chemicals because the machines were always running. The large porch was occupied by a Spanish school all day. Toddlers cried all day and night, so guests with them had trouble. The refrigerator was tiny, and the room curtains were see‑through, so the sun woke me up early. Reception is locked at night and you must call to be let in, which feels burdensome. They boast that they’ve run the hostel for 20 years, yet the trash can would disappear for hours during the day. I had to check out early.

They’re a very friendly family who quickly attend to any guest need. Everything was great.

Bismark and his family were lovely, very friendly and caring. They answered any questions we had about the area and enjoyed staying there. The laundry service was very helpful too. The room was clean and the bathroom was too. Be mindful that this is a family’s home, so for party goers this probably isn’t the hostal for you. Not an issue for us but the doors are shut at 10pm so be aware of this. The kitchen equipment is limited however still good. You can only really cook 1 at a time as it is quite small.
