The volunteers here were genuinely helpful and made me feel welcome, which was the highlight of my stay. On the downside, the room had no door, so I couldn't shut out the noise when a techno party went on late into the night. Navigating the stairs in the dark was also a hassle.

I really dug the vibe at La Happycleta—cozy, cheap, and the host was super kind, making me feel right at home. The place gave solid tips on the best spots around Palomino, which was exactly what I needed for a chill break.

This hostel is a solid pick for backpackers: laid‑back atmosphere, unbeatable rates, and a kitchen you can actually use to save on meals. The only real drawbacks are the door‑less rooms and showers that could use a better clean.

The tree‑house concept and the outdoor shower were genuinely cool, and the resident cat added a lot of charm. Unfortunately, staff only showed up a couple of hours a day, the bathroom bins went weeks without being emptied, and we ended up cleaning dishes left by other guests. On top of that, we never got the promised breakfast, were blamed for a wall that never existed, and the nonstop music until 4 am made any sleep impossible.

Our host was warm and gave us plenty of local tips, and the place itself has a lot of potential. However, the bed was dirty enough to make us itchy all night, there was no privacy or curtains, and the morning sun blasted straight in. A bit more upkeep and cleaning would go a long way.
