The hotel’s location was good, yet it didn’t live up to its 5‑star claim and felt more like a 3‑star place.

Location, but I experienced several serious problems during this stay, including hygiene, basic room conditions, and, most importantly, a major safety issue. I am attaching photos and other evidence. The room was extremely cold. The temperature in the room felt unbearable, almost like Antarctica. I contacted reception and asked for help, but I was told that they could not make the room warmer because it was summer. Instead, I was offered a blanket. This meant that I was expected to walk around the room and even eat while wrapped in a blanket. I was freezing throughout the entire night. Basic amenities were missing or defective. There was no hand‑washing soap/liquid in the bathroom, and there was no shampoo provided. The living room light was also broken. The bathroom was not functioning properly. There was a problem with the water, and I could not properly take a shower. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel room that was paid for. The most serious issue was my personal safety. Someone was allowed to enter my room without the reception properly checking who the person was or which room they were going to. I was extremely frightened. I did not feel safe enough to sleep alone and had to call a friend to come and stay with me. When I reported this to reception, I was told that I would be safe and that the person would not come back and that they would “look into it.” However, I was still extremely frightened and unable to sleep while the hotel staff/security appeared to be sleeping in the lobby. I would like to ask: Is this considered an acceptable safety procedure for a hotel? A hotel should have strict procedures regarding who is allowed to enter guests’ rooms, and guests should be able to feel safe inside their own room. What concerns me even more is that the hotel had already charged me at check‑in, but the following morning I received a message asking whether I was actually staying at the hotel.

The dinner at the restaurant was really tasty, though absurdly pricey. The shower was mouldy; we booked four rooms for four people and each room only got two face towels and two hand towels, no large bath towels. On the second day we returned to our room and found no towels at all – the dirty ones had been taken away and no fresh ones were provided. We asked for big towels and they didn’t have any, only two hand towels per room. The shampoo and soap in the shower were less than a quarter of a bottle, so we had to buy our own. We requested a power adapter because Israeli laptop chargers have three prongs while the hotel only has two, and instead of having one on hand they sent us to a shop to buy one. When we wanted to use the pool they refused to give us pool towels, and we had to keep insisting for hand towels again. We had asked for rooms with smoking balconies, got only one such room and they wouldn’t swap us. They gave us two bottles of water on arrival and nothing on the second day, and when we asked for more they again sent us to a shop. We were fed up after three nights booked but left after the second night. No one noticed we were leaving or asked what happened, and nobody cared that we were leaving. We came from Israel for a Georgian friend’s birthday, mentioned it, and got no acknowledgment. As a senior hotel manager in Israel I know what good service looks like, and we left very disappointed.

Four guests shared a room that only had two towels, no baby cot, and we had to wait because at 8 pm there was no room ready; the room was small and the service was awful. When we asked to extend our stay by two hours they insisted we pay for a whole extra night, not just a little extra.
