“Unwelcoming and unaccommodating with no apologies but lots of excuses”
Location was pretty good. At this price point (four hundred a night) much better is expected. Proprietor did not uphold their end of the agreement - did not provide basic safety precautions (thankfully wife did not fall), denied access to the freezer even though posted in the room as available. no coffee at breakfast, not reachable or responsive for issues. Got excuses, not remedies. Some of the specifics - quotes are from the proprietor. 1. key lock box - difficult - "most men have no problem" - and then when opened, no key inside 2. no welcome instructions - had to ask about breakfast which is basic continental 3. stifling hot room - had to go back down to ask how to cool room - made worse by high wattage incandescent bulbs - could feel the heat radiating from the table lamps - "no one in Fish Camp has air conditioning" 4. stumble step in the room not adequately marked nor were we cautioned about; wife had a major stumble - "not much we can do about that" 5. minimal towels for a 3-night stay including only 1 hand towel 6. sink stopper broken (repaired when reported) 7. overhead room light did not work (not fixed when reported) 8. no freezer access though posted in room as available - "we have to use all our freezer space for our food" 9. no coffee - "the supplier did not deliver" - not reachable via phone or otherwise - called and no answer and VM full - knocked on owner's door and no answer - this was final straw decided to leave a night early. 10. Proprietor refused to credit for the night. 11. Will also mention the room needs a serious update, other than the bathroom. Balcony is not fit for use
