The room was beautiful, well furnished and cozy, the breakfast was good, and the hotel was just 5–10 minutes from the archaeological park entrance; renting a bike on request was very convenient.

Quaint location along the river with panoramic views of the stupas. Overall stay okay but. When I paid for dinner (USD10) during check out, 1. Credit card transaction went through on my side but pending on merchant’s side. After waiting 30-40 mins, hotel didn’t want to swipe the credit card again or accept cash, so I left. 2. 2 hours later, hotel called to confirm transaction has failed and provided me details to perform cash transfer. 3. I’ve to find the bank with cash deposit machine, in towns I never planned to visit. Anuradhapura and Sigiriya are NOT big towns. 4. The cash deposit transaction wasn't smooth. Screen time lapsed abnormally fast. More details of account owner were required. I only managed to transfer on my 4th attempt. 5. The ordeal created inconvenience and my time was wasted solving the hotel's payment problem. For a mere USD10, it demonstrates lack of genuine hospitality on the hotel's part

The location was good.

This place is fantastic; unlike beach resorts, it was built for a specific purpose. It’s fully vegetarian and non‑alcoholic, which suits visitors to the holy city who seek calm and serenity. A dedicated, fully serviced room for making devotional milk‑rice was a practical, unexpected, and free feature that seems unique on the island. Nothing else was lacking, but a lift to the second floor would help those with weak knees, and a curtain behind the dining room’s back wall would add privacy.

The view from the location and the balconies was excellent, but the dinner menu was limited and the staff were few.
