I really enjoyed the vibe; the owner and several locals were usually nearby, the morning coffee was great, and the music set a nice mood amid nature. The rooms were very basic, and you need a car or a local taxi—about $15‑20—to reach the beach, supermarket, or Greyhound stop, but it’s still convenient.
“Warm welcome and tasty breakfast”
We loved staying here – the moment we pulled up in our car we were greeted warmly and checked in without a hitch. The shared room had comfortable beds and a pleasant atmosphere, plus a well‑stocked kitchen and a breakfast at the café that was downright delicious. Definitely a place we’d recommend.
“Stunning views, but hard to get around”
The rainforest view from the property is amazing, and both the kitchen and bathrooms were kept spotless; we even spotted a cassowary wandering the garden one morning. The downside is that you really need a car or taxi to get around – the Greyhound bus pickup costs about 15 AUD – and the pool was dirty with a cleaning machine constantly sitting in the water. Without a vehicle there isn’t much to do.
“Cozy room, friendly staff, but noisy kitchen”
We grabbed the private double right next to the kitchen, which gave us a handy balcony to chill on during the day and a comfy bed at night. The staff and owner were super friendly and quick to help with anything we needed. The only downside was the kitchen chatter that carried late into the night and woke us up early in the morning.
“Great location and helpful staff, but a bit noisy”
The spot is fantastic – you get a great view of the garden and pool, and the beach is just a short walk away. The staff were friendly and gave us solid tips on nearby hikes and even pointed out a beautiful waterfall. The only hitch was that the rooms were a little bit noisy, so you could hear the neighbors at times.
