When we arrived we were upgraded to a nicer room, the owner welcomed us with enthusiasm and offered us a melon the next day. The apartment was tidy with good beds, enough facilities, and a nice pool. However, the music by the pool was taken over by a group of drunk people at 1 pm and again in the evening; the volume kept getting louder, ignoring others. The owner lowered it once, but when they left it rose again. We mentioned it and it got a bit better, yet they were still too intoxicated to consider anyone else. The kitchen was only moderately equipped; we shared a kettle with the neighbors on the same floor.

The hotel sits in a prime spot and the restaurant and pool were both excellent, plus the mattress was really comfortable. The only downsides were the carpeted floor in the lobby and the bathroom, which weren’t up to the same standard.

We liked the outdoor pool a lot—perfect for a summer stay—and the fact that it’s close to Plovdiv yet cooler because of the nearby mountains. The place was almost empty during the week, so it felt very peaceful. On the flip side, the apartment felt cramped for two adults and two kids; there weren’t even four basic pieces of cutlery or a place to drain dishes, and the bathroom was tiny with no room for toiletries.

The room itself was pleasant and the pool and sauna were solid highlights. Unfortunately, two of our three nights fell on weekend birthday parties for kids, so every lounge chair and poolside spot was taken, and the whole area was filled with shouting children and loud music—thankfully the windows kept most of the noise out. Also, you can’t bring your own food or drinks to the pool tables; everything has to be ordered from the opposite restaurant.
