Everything was great. The shared bathroom was clean and well maintained. The owner didn’t speak much English, but that wasn’t a problem at all. The location was great, close to the cable car up the mountain, and the place was very peaceful and quiet. It was a bit cold at night in September, and the building is quite old, but overall everything was fine.

The hut was a fantastic value for money and perfectly situated for the Rila Seven Lakes Hike. The host was very welcoming and cooked good food at a cheap price. Bring a sleeping bag if you visit later in the year.

We stayed two nights to visit the Rila Lakes. The wooden hut was good, and the staff were excellent—thanks a lot, Dancho, for being so friendly and helpful. The hut was next to the elevator and in the forest. The bathroom and the old doors to the room were a downside.

The place is just great – the owners are incredibly friendly and the location couldn't be better. I felt right at home and will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

The hut sits right up in the mountains, just a stone's throw from the lower lift that gets you onto the 7‑lake loop – ideal for hikers. The food is solidly Bulgarian, just the way I like it, and the people there are genuinely nice, giving it that authentic hut vibe. The only downside is that the facilities look a bit worn and there’s far too much disposable crockery; a few real plates would make a big difference.
