A sleek, comfy hotel with staff who are genuinely helpful and welcoming, and the breakfast is the best I've tasted anywhere in Sri Lanka—definitely try the Spicy Margaritas. The beach right across from the hotel, however, is a disappointment: it's littered with rubbish and feels too narrow to enjoy.

The decor and room were wonderful, spacious, and the facilities were good; the staff were always cheerful and helpful, making for a truly great stay. The beds were comfortable, housekeeping was terrific, and the service was responsive and speedy. The only drawback was that there is no elevator and the room is on the third floor, which you only find out after paying.

We were so excited to stay at Stay Ceylon that we almost didn’t want to leave; from the instant we walked in the staff made us feel welcomed and went the extra mile to ensure everything was flawless. The room was stunningly decorated, super comfy, and offered a gorgeous ocean view. The location was perfect—close to everything we needed yet still peaceful. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent, and both Sri Lankan and western lunch and dinner dishes were delicious. The cocktails and juices were also very good. Every tap and shower used filtered clean water, which was a nice bonus. What really made the stay special was the meticulous attention to detail and the genuine kindness from everyone. They wrote us a heartfelt card and gave us flowers on arrival to celebrate our engagement, showing they truly care about their guests. After staying in many hotels over the years, this one ranks among our favorites, and we’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable getaway.

Our room was very nice, clean, and spacious, and the staff were so kind and friendly, helping us with any issue we had. We liked everything.
