“Charme tibétain proche monastère / bon service chauffeur”

I had a truly pleasant stay in Xiahe; the location is outstanding, perfect for walking to the monastery and doing the kora. The staff are adorable, and the hotel has a lot of charm with genuine Tibetan décor. The rooms are lovely, though they could use a little refresh. Also, Losang, the owner, arranges multi‑day tours and chauffeur services to explore Amdo—highly recommended, it’s a great way to see the area. This place is worth recommending for its soul and hospitality.

“Great location; friendly and helpful staff”

The staff were very friendly and helpful, even assisting us with transportation from Lanzhou. There was nothing else noteworthy—obviously not a luxury property, but it was clean and comfortable.

The contact person was quick to arrange a driver from Lanzhou station to Xiahe before we arrived, but the bathroom felt outdated and the carpeted corridors in front of the rooms allowed smoke to drift in, sometimes leaving a cigarette smell in the room.

The location next to the monastery is unique, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The bathroom is outdated.

The location is good because it faces the Labrang monastery. The breakfast was insufficient and unhygienic, as it was brought to the room without any protection and was not clean. The staff were not friendly or empathetic. Be careful—tour prices are exorbitant. I left a day early.
