“Excellent place for scuba divers”

Blue Angel is a scuba shop first and foremost. And the scuba diving is exceptional.reasonably priced, small boats, and an excellent staff. If you're in Cozumel to go diving, this is an excellent place. As for the hotel; it's very rustic with textured concrete floors and walls, with wooden log trim. I mentioned to others that I could see Fred Flintstone staying here. And I meant that in a good way. The rooms aren't luxurious, but they are clean and well maintained. The restaurant is small, but quite good. And all the staff at the property are very friendly. The location isn't great. It's a bit of a walk to get to other restaurants and/or shopping. But taxis are reasonably priced and plentiful in Cozumel. And as this is a hotel for scuba divers, don't expect many extras

“It has its good and bad features. I would not stay there again unless I was a diver”

Breakfast and the food overall were good, and the happy hour was solid. The service was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. The lobby, pool, and yard community areas were fun and made it easy to meet other guests and socialize. The dive staff and boats were nice. It’s a hotel for scuba divers and they do a good job with their clientele. I wouldn’t recommend staying there unless you dive. The entire place inside and out is very run down and in need of maintenance everywhere I looked. Showers on the first floor only had hot water occasionally and the rooms smelled. AC’s took a long time to cool the rooms and you had to leave them running full time to stay cool. I was on the fourth floor with no elevator and that was very challenging for me the first few days. The pool needs painted or resurfaced, palm trees need to be trimmed and the yard maintained better. Lots of coconuts that can fall on someone. Snorkeling is not very good in front of this hotel and the ladder to get into the ocean is difficult. The pool ladder is a little difficult also. There is no good place to get into the ocean from the shore. Too many rocks and very slippery. They could make an area that would be easier to get into the ocean and that would be a very nice addition. In general, the owner needs to put some much needed maintenance and care into this place. They have a loyal clientele that seems willing to put up with how run down everything is but they were complaining about it. The place has so much potential. It's sad to see it being neglected.

The staff were very kind and helpful. It was nice that you could tap free drinking water. We found it great that we could snorkel with the kids from the resort and also use the pool. We also rented a car and visited other nice snorkeling spots. The accommodation is very noisy, both from the neighboring property and the street traffic.

“fair price, easy access to diving, friendly dive staff, sunset view from balcony ,for diving is ok,”

The location is great for scuba diving, the boat is 10 feet away from the property, easy access, the dive shop and staff are very friendly, helpful and convenient. I’ll come back to dive. The music is good, and the sunset view from your balcony room is wonderful. The room is very outdated, slightly not clean, everything is old, needs some change and update, the toilet seat is uncomfortable, molded, the bed sheets are sticky; we tolerated it because we only had 3 days of diving. Hope they will improve.
