“Un hotel "in transizione" da una gestione familiare ai canoni della moderna hotellerie”
The Bellavista hotel is a textbook example of a "transition structure" moving from old‑style family management to modern hospitality standards. The building itself shows this shift: many rooms have been largely renovated, and both the interior and exterior of the palace have been refreshed. It’s hard to find such features on the coast: panoramic views, a pool, a small spa, parking, and a renowned restaurant—all of which make it appealing. The partly renovated rooms have excellent air‑conditioning, the rooms are a bit larger than usual, and the view is worth the price. The pool stays open until 20.00, and the small spa is an added bonus. However, the transition still needs to finish: service should move from attentive but family‑like to more international. Rooms need better soundproofing because the hotel faces the Sorrento Coast highway, the only road on the coast, which is busy all hours; this can be very noisy, especially on lower floors where even smog arrives. Some interiors, especially the corridors, the view of the inner courtyards from the pool, and the entire pool area, need a refresh. Wi‑Fi needs strengthening, and breakfast could use a bit more effort. At a renowned restaurant like Francischiello it’s unacceptable to offer coffee from a machine or fruit juices that aren’t fresh.
