“Lever de soleil et ballade dans les rizières. Calme et découverte de la Chine profonde”
Woke up to sunrise over the rice fields – absolutely stunning. The rooftop terrace was a nice touch, and the host was right there to help us out. We’d definitely take the host’s taxi instead of a Didi both ways. Only downside: the property is still under renovation in a few spots, which might turn off some travelers. The room itself was clean overall, but the ongoing work was a bit distracting. We only stayed one night, but I’d have liked to stay two.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind. The view of the rice fields is breathtaking. Breakfast was generous and tasty, with both sweet and savory options.
The place sits right on the rice terraces and the manager is genuinely friendly, which is a plus. Unfortunately the rooms feel more like a half‑finished site than a hotel – there are no windows, no ventilation and the glass that does exist is grimy, so the view is quickly ruined. The pictures online are misleading; you end up in a cramped, stale space that looks like it could collapse at any moment.
“Sublime”
We stumbled onto this place by chance and fell in love. Jacky, the manager, is fantastic – he speaks perfect English and shares fascinating travel stories. The setting is gorgeous, full of charm, and the housewives whipped up divine snacks. The rooms sit above the rice fields, super comfy with heated beds. No complaints, just pure excellence.
Lucien, the owner, is amazing – he gives info on rice‑field walks, arranges tours and transfers, does paperwork for you, and even drives you to your next stop. The hotel’s location is great and the view from the room and terrace is fantastic. The room itself is fine, but the cleanliness could be better, and the common areas are a bit old and not well maintained. Breakfast and food are good, and the overall vibe is great.
