A few staff members were really friendly and helpful – one man corrected the room number on my card holder and later brought a refrigerator into my room, and another young server at the restaurant assisted me with my order while I was working late at the large lobby table. The receptionist, a pleasant young woman, also gave me a farewell gift. The only downside was that my room didn’t have a bathtub.

My room was huge, even by Ridge House standards where rooms are considered “small.” With only four rooms per floor and two having private baths, I only shared a bath with one other person. Each floor has a large, newly remodeled kitchen stocked with all the basics, and there’s an all‑guest lounge on the first floor. The location is great—right in the middle of Federal Hill with plenty of restaurants, and a ten‑minute bus ride to downtown. Chad, the manager, was incredibly nice and super‑helpful. I’d return in a heartbeat. The only thing to note is that there’s no elevator; if stairs are a problem, mention it when booking. I was fine on the third floor, but not everyone will be.

The bed was clean and comfortable, but I only received one towel per guest and no hand towel or washcloth. The bathroom counter lacked a wipe for other guests’ use, so I had to use my own face and hand towel. It would have been nice to have coffee, cream, and sugar available.

It’s close to everything and quiet. The beds have a comfortable mattress but the frames are weak.

The value was amazing and the property is beautiful. The room was a nice size, the bed was incredibly comfy, and there was plenty of parking. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The only drawback was that the room was very dark during the day; I didn’t hate it, but I would have preferred the ability to open the curtains to let in sunshine.
