“This was nearly an ideal accommodation with fabulous views for our multi-general family of 9!”
The home sits directly across the Eyjafjörður from Akureyri, offering absolutely amazing views; driving into Akureyri took only about a 5 minute trip. Check‑in was contactless, with a lock‑box code texted to us two days before arrival, and Linda and Auðunn answered questions quickly by message and phone. The front entry had plenty of space for our many shoes, coats, and outdoor gear for our party of 9, including 3 children under 12 who stayed for 5 days. A washing/drying machine was available, though unused, and we appreciated the large hanging racks for wet clothes after rain or swimming. The open‑concept living/dining/kitchen area was spacious and well‑equipped, with many windows to enjoy the views. The kitchen had plenty of tableware, silverware, pots, pans, and prep supplies, which were very useful. Seating was ample, with extra chairs, and the large deck was great for grilling, eating, and enjoying the view. Upstairs, an enclosed loft with 4 twin beds was a hit with the cousins. The main level had two bedrooms with comfortable double beds, plenty of hanging space, and a bathroom with a small shower on the same level as the public rooms. Two more bedrooms with double beds and a larger bathroom were on the lower level, along with a hot tub that we didn’t use; that level could only be reached by walking outside the main level. The yard was large, well‑kept, and great for kids. The area around the property could be described as rural, with homes of varying ages, including new ones under construction, but when we were there it was very quiet. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Thank you Linda and Auðunn for letting us enjoy your property.
We were there during the World Cup and struggled to get a continuous reception of the games. Additionally, while the Wi‑Fi worked fine, it was challenging when multiple people used it simultaneously.
