“Sehr enttäuscht - Alles verdreckt, vorzeitige Abreise”
The location of the agriturismo is excellent – rural, surrounded by greenery, yet well connected towards Pisa and Lucca. There is a large pool that looked appealing, though we didn’t use it. Children can enjoy various play equipment in the garden. When we arrived late, the host was very accommodating. However, we booked a two‑room apartment and found it in a worn condition: the dishes in the cupboard and the dishwasher were completely calcified, as were the shower and fixtures. We tried to clean the glasses but failed. The kitchen cupboard still had crumbs from the previous occupants, and there was old dirt in some places. The shower water temperature and pressure fluctuated wildly, and the shower head holder was broken and crudely tied with a hair‑elastic. The kitchen was unusable in that state. We pointed this out to the host, who showed no understanding and merely shrugged, saying “that’s just limescale.” She claimed the broken shower happened the day before our arrival, but she should have at least informed us. We also wanted to use the washing machine in a separate building; when we went to pick up our finished laundry, a sign suddenly appeared on the machine: “5€ per wash.” She had placed that sign while our laundry was already running. The fee was never mentioned and isn’t in the house rules posted in the apartment. That behaviour is downright rude! After our complaint, the host offered to clean the apartment again. To clean the dirty dishes and bathroom properly would have taken at least two full days. We decided to leave early and asked for a discount due to the deficiencies. That seemed fair, as the contract stated we would have to pay the full price even if we cancelled. With the discount she could have accommodated us and quickly rented the apartment again. The discount was rejected with a laugh.
