The spot was perfect—far enough inland for sunshine yet just a 10‑minute walk to Bodega Bay and the ocean. The bed was super comfy, and it was great to have a bar and restaurant downstairs plus several eateries and shops right across the street. The stairwell had a bad smell, but luckily my room was fresh and pleasant.

Good location between Bodega Bay and Santa Rosa, but the room smelled like sewage at night, the bed collapsed in the middle, and the fridge didn’t even work.

The Oyster Cottage was extremely clean, though there was no signage on Main Street indicating that it is Oyster Cottage.

The restaurant food and staff were great and very friendly, the place was reasonably quiet and peaceful, and the coffee was decent. However, the hotel policy says no pets, yet a cat was in the hallway one morning and left a noticeable urine smell near the front stairs. The room had only one wooden dining‑room chair that wasn’t comfortable, and the desk had no chair or other furnishings. The room itself was small. The hot water in the shower and sink was scalding hot; we told the owner, who said the water heater was new, but it was the same the next day.
