The house was super comfy and roomy, right in front of a police station so you feel safe. It’s a stone’s throw from Tombo and close to Guaiuba beach, both safer than the city center. João was incredibly helpful, and even though the bathrooms were shared it didn’t bother us at all.

The little house is in a prime spot in Tombo and just radiates good vibes—literally a burst of energy.

Ro is a sweetheart who gives great tips for tours and eats, and she’s super friendly. The hostel sits right by Tombo beach, making it a chill spot for solo travelers, and the common area is comfy too. It was a solid experience—I’ll definitely come back.

This is my second time at Alma de Maré, and I’m always greeted warmly. Everything in the little house is top-notch, and the hosts are kind and helpful. I’ll keep coming back.
