“Bad smell. No solution.”
The location was fine, but the room had a smell that couldn't be fixed, and no new room was offered. I had to spray toilet cleaner myself to mask it. It felt cheap for the relatively high price.

Located in the heart of London's West End, the 4-star Gem Fitzrovia Hotel is a restored Georgian building. This hotel is a short walk from Oxford Street and Oxford Circus, with Regent's Park accessible within 10 minutes. Two Tube stations are nearby. Spacious rooms feature digital LCD TVs, free WiFi, and tea/coffee-making facilities. The XX-XXVIII Restaurant serves a superb menu, while the Omega Lounge Bar offers afternoon tea and cocktails.

We stayed at the Gem Fitzrovia Hotel for a week and a half and enjoyed every moment. The room felt cozy and had everything we needed for a long stay, like a closet with an ironing board and safe, plus a desk and chair. After a long day in London, the hot shower was a small luxury we appreciated. The location is a major plus: close to central London, public transport is a short walk away, and there are great restaurants, pubs, shops, and parks around every corner, making the neighborhood easy to explore on foot. What I loved most was the atmosphere; despite being near major streets and bus routes, the hotel sits on a quiet street that offers a peaceful retreat after a busy day. The neighborhood and overall vibe of the hotel are charming. The staff deserve special mention: everyone we met was accommodating, personable, and welcoming, creating a warm and comfortable environment that made our stay even better. We genuinely enjoyed our time at the Gem Fitzrovia and would happily return on our next London visit. It was convenient, charming, and perfectly situated for experiencing the city. The only downsides were the mattress, which was quite hard and not the most comfortable for us, and the strange stains on the carpet, which were a bit off‑putting.

This hotel is very nice and reasonably priced. It’s not in the budget range, but London can be expensive. The area is quiet at night. My superior double was clean and comfortable with all the expected amenities, and the shower was very good. It’s not huge, but that’s London. I would stay there again. No complaints, but if you’re heading to West End theatres and bright lights, it’s a bit of a walk.
