The staff were friendly, the only bright spot of this hotel. Room 309 smelled terribly, clearly like sewage, and was unbearable. The hotel’s price and rating made me feel cheated. The cold air made it impossible to control heating or temperature, so we had to sleep with the window open. There was no breakfast, and the utensils were dirty. I don’t recommend it.

The hotel sits a 30 minute walk from St. James Church and a bit off from the main part of Medjugorje centre, but it’s part of a sports complex that includes a gym and tennis courts. I thought the breakfast was fine, though I expected more fruit options from a 4‑star establishment. I specifically booked here to use the pool, but it was closed because of the season.

I’m grateful to Bjanka for always being smiling, warm, and ready to help at the reception or bar; her positive energy left a great impression. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was not up to standard; the room and its surroundings were not tidy enough, which left a bad impression.

The hotel’s location is great, the green areas are well maintained, the rooms are tidy, and the linens and towels are changed regularly. However, the kitchen staff—an average woman with dark hair and a slight build—did not treat me professionally; I spent about 500 euro over two days, and I expected a warm, courteous service. The breakfast was disappointing: only a few sausages, two types of eggs (always a handful in a bowl), four types of cold cuts (one of them dry salami), and no pancakes, which is unheard of for a 4‑star hotel. During breakfast today, the same staff member rudely commented about me in front of other guests when I asked for two small bottles of juice for my 2‑year‑old daughter and two small sandwiches with sliced bread for our 800 km trip. I usually buy coffee at the bar every morning because the breakfast coffee was not drinkable. Each evening I spent at least 40 euro on drinks at the bar. The staff’s behaviour was unacceptable, and I left feeling cheated and disappointed. On the first day we arrived, the hotel was huge but half‑empty, perhaps due to staff shortages or limited food options. The breakfast I received was comparable to that of a third‑rate pension. Also, we didn’t receive any shampoo or disposable slippers. The other staff I interacted with were excellent, especially the ladies who prepared and changed the linens. My family tradition of visiting Medjugorje each year will have to avoid this hotel in the future.
