“Greta location but it was not a type of a room from Booking page ..”
The spot was great, but the room I got wasn’t the one advertised on Booking. It sat on the 9th floor of a block that shared a kitchen, and the kitchen had no running water. The room and kitchen were spotless, and there were no annoying noises at night except the cars on the road. I was disappointed with the textile floor instead of the promised parquet and the lack of air conditioning.
“Good location but with some issues”
The location was excellent; many sights in the new district like Baiterek or the Presidential Palace are within a 10‑15 minute walk, and there are groceries, fast‑food, and liquor shops nearby. The room itself was clean and the refrigerator and air‑conditioner worked well. I booked a single room but was given room no. 5. After showering the first night, the bathroom and toilet drain was clogged and flooded even after a night, so on the second day I asked reception to change rooms and she agreed. When I returned with my luggage, she thought I was checking out. I asked again to change rooms, but she said it was impossible this time. I explained that I had already paid for four more nights. She then consulted an older lady, who seemed to be a manager, and they reluctantly agreed to change rooms. The miscommunication may have stemmed from their limited English and our use of a phone translation app, but I wonder how they viewed the money I paid for the remaining nights. When I booked, I sent a message to the site asking how to get to the hotel from the airport and whether a free late check‑out on the last day was possible, but they never responded. The wall between rooms was not sound‑proofed.
