My wife and I would have preferred a ground‑floor room since there’s no lift; the climb to the top floor was painful for our arthritis‑stricken knees, and no staff were available to help with room changes. We needed more pillows, as the single ones were too flat, and the mattress was too soft and wobbly for our lower back pain. The top‑floor room with no lift was unsuitable for old‑age pensioners like us.
